Starting another flare up?

Hello everyone! It's been quite awhile since I've posted on the forum! I now have a new GI doctor who is wonderful and who has started treatment for me! I've recently discovered that along with mild Crohns, I also have Gastroparesis and small intestine bacteria overgrowth. I was put on entocort and it luckily helped my symptoms and put me into remission! Although I still feel extremely exhausted most of the time, my pains and diarrhea vanished for about a month.

But now, I'm wondering if I'm possibly entering another flare. My stomach has been having cramps for the entirety of the past few days as if I'm going to need to run to the bathroom, and when I do go most of my stool is covered in a lot of mucus. Something I haven't seen since I started my treatment.

I've also been having bad night sweats, and hot flashes. I'm just scared to be entering another flare after not having pains for quite awhile. How do you all usually feel when having a flare up? I'm just curious if my symptoms sound familiar. Thank you!

Hi, Everly!

The important question is, are these normal flare symptoms for you? They could definitely be symptoms of a flare, especially the nighttime symptoms and mucus. How do these symptoms compare to the symptoms you've felt from gastroparesis and the bacteria overgrowth? Have you contacted your GI about these symptoms? If you let them know right away, you may be able to combat the symptoms before they get any worse.

Hello!

To answer your question, my flare up usually starts after having a bowel movement, even if nothing actually comes out. Just by pushing and putting myself under that stress makes me flare up afterwards. The flare up could easily last the entire day and the only way to find comfort is by going to sleep, which is not by any means a solution to the problem, but I honestly have no other option.

Then, when I get up, if I slept normally, the flare up is no longer there until I go poop once again. It is seriously a nightmare.
