Hello everyone so I'm new to this...but I will be starting humira Friday and I'm so nervous! I got diagnosed in February of this year, I had cdiff and I found out I had crohns. I only took delzicol an prednisone for my crohns never got cdiff back again hopefully never do knock on wood! But I wanted to know how quick did u see results, is it a high success rate of remission can humira cause me to get cdiff again_?

Hello,

Not sure about cdiff to be honest, but I've never had it with humira. I've been on it since January, its been pretty good for me, allowed me to come off the pred which I've been on for 5 years. Results wise I saw a slight improvement early on (first few weeks) but I had a really bad flare Feb time, persevered with it and I've been of the steroids since June so prob took a few months before I saw the real benefit of it. Only downside for me is the amount of colds/bugs I seem to get. I'd rather have them than the crohns though!!

Humira can't cause cdiff. The time it takes for humira to work can vary between patients. Some can tell a difference right away with others it can take several months.

Hope humira works quickly and you reach remission soon!

Do u all know how long it takes for the humira to kick in I know I just got the shot yesterday lol but I'm anxious tired of going threw this

Hi Brandy, I started Humira in June and I got an immediate improvement and have felt better in the last six months than I did in the last 20 years , for me its been a life changing drug , the most important being my quality of life now is almost normal , the only problem I have is that my hand and feet joints are still a bit creaky still but I can live with that ,
Best of luck with the Humira and hope it works well for you .

Humira took about 5 months to kick in for my kiddo
Typically it's three to five months to reach therapeutic levels in the blood

He was on supplemental formula at the time and had been in remission on remicade prior but had two allergic reactions to remicade so it was stopped
He gained a normal amount of weight that would be expected for a 9 year old at the time

thanks and did u eat a special diet or anything tony H?
No special diet , lots of chicken and fish . fresh veg , very little red meat , oatmeal most days , don't drink (apart for a glass or two Christmas day and don't smoke , very boring but it's working .
