Hello,

Im going to start Humira in 2 days  and im very excited about starting it,
My GI asked me if i would want a nurse to help me with my first 4 shots, i told him NO.
I want to do it my self, i saw alot of videos on youtube of how to inject my self,
and saw alot of advices and manuals of how to inject my self on this forum and google , and how to reduce the pain like using Ice cubes, and Room Temp... etc ..

Since i want to inject my self in the thigh, 2 on the left and 2 on the right side,
i have to keep a 3cm distance between each shot, right ?

And, after 2 weeks, do i really have to stay away 3cm from the last injecting spot? if so, one year and i will have no other spot on my thigh to take more :):) right ?:X
How long should i avoid to inject the same spot i did before ?

Thanks and sorry for my English

I still had a nurse train me but she made me do every single injection.

I don't usually count how far apart my injections are, but that sounds about right to me. You may want to make them a little further from each other since you'll need to pinch the skin so the area you just injected may be sensitive or sore.

And yes, you do need to stay away from the previous injection spot. It gets easier after the loading doses since then you just switch legs. It kind of depends on if you get injection site reactions or not, too -- I get them and even a week later or so I can still see a hive where I injected, so obviously I need to avoid that spot. Same with spots that have bruised. If it's healed you're probably fine.

Wow,
I had my first 4 shots last thuresday,
What a MAGIC
My only symptons was Diarrhea (twice to 3 times a day ) with weight loss,
I feel much comfort now and 1 time going to w/c without even feeling bad when i need to... , i feel full of ENERGY like there is no Crohn

But,
I got my first shot on my thighs, 2 on my right and 2 on the left ...
and i cant tell now where exactly i got them,
What to do for my next 2 shots?
What could happen if i inject on the same last injecting spot?

Thanks

Nothing bad, they just want to make sure you don't inject in the same spot next time so you don't build up scar tissue. If it happens in the exact same spot, just be careful not to do it there again.

Otherwise, I'm so happy to hear it worked for you!! :D
