Hi, new here but definitely not new to Crohn's. I've been diagnosed going on 18 years and have been doing fairly well up until I had foot & ankle surgery July of 2023. Since then been in hospital 2 times with partial bowel obstructions. Dr thinks surgery kicked me out of remission. Anyway just started Humira injections, just finished my loading dose and I feel worse than before. Is that normal? Is my body just getting use to the drug? Way more stomach pain, bloating, nausea, and joint pain. Anyone else experience this? Trying to be patient but 😩

Hi and welcome! I have also just started Adalimumab (Amgevita - as far as I understand it Humira was the original version, but there are now various biosimilar versions). I got my first loading dose almost 2 weeks ago, and am due my 2nd loading dose on Tuesday. I haven’t had any worsening of symptoms since the initial loading dose, but then I’m also on steroids and Pentasa because I’ve been in a prolonged flare, so maybe that’s why. Might be worth discussing with your consultant or nurse specialist to make sure everything’s ok? Maybe someone on here with more similar experience will be able to advise you. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks. Hopefully it will get you to feeling better soon. Yeah I have an appointment coming up so I will discuss it with her.
