Hi

I am new to this forum and joined as I am looking for some advice. I recently had an MRI and it showed that my Crohn's is flaring, there are several skip lesions with proximal dilation. I also have low B12, my levels were under 125. Weirdly I've felt mostly ok up until finding this out, this might be because I have had CD for 12 years?! Although I have been finding it hard to concentrate at times and my memory is terrible!

I am currently on 100mg of azathioprine and am starting Remicade treatment next week. I am really nervous about this, especially after reading all the possible side effects! I would love to hear about anyone else's experiences with remicade. :)

Hi Graze welcome to the forum. My son started Remicade earlier this year and he has had no side effects. He is sometimes really tired for a few hours aftervthe infusion but I'm pretty certain that is from the benedryl they give him before hand. Good luck with the Remicade, hope it works fast for you!

I am really nervous about Remicade too and the side effects.... do you have any? I am currently taking purinethol and my doctor told me she might chose to switch to remicade if I don't get better since I just had a really hard flare ( constant blood in the toilet I went 12 times in about 3 hours ).

Hi Yannick. Sounds like you're having a rough time at the moment! Luckily I haven't been like that for a few years but I know it's miserable so I really hope you start feeling better really soon. I haven't started Remicade treatment so I couldn't comment on side effects but I just read about purinethol and it seems a lot of the side effects are the same as Remicade. I think they are quite similar, ? , as they are both Immunosuppressants. So maybe it's not as bad as you think! If You do start on Remicade treatment I hope it works well for you, and me too! Treatment starts this Tuesday for me so I will keep you posted
Thanks for your feedback Clash. I'm glad to hear something possitive about remicade and it's good your son is doing well. I think the tiredness is a small price to pay.
