Still Waiting

I am so frustrated. It is now nearly 2 weeks since we were "rushed in" to see the surgeon and still waiting for a date for an MRI. I was told they were hoping to have it done within 2 weeks but so far not even a letter giving us a date.
I have phoned the IBD 3 times so far but we are no further forward :angry-banghead:
Starting to wonder if they are hoping if they keep putting us off, the absess will miraculously disappear on it's own.

I can't imagine waiting that long while my child is suffering. Stay on it mom!!

Ask if you can call the MRI department directly to be put on waiting list. This was suggested to me twice by clinic nurses at two different hospitals for different issues (once for me, once for Stephen). For Stephen, the IBD nurse did not even have a date but when I called the MRI department, I was given the date immediately, although the date is still weeks away. But, in my case, I was also given a weeks-away date but then called a week later due to a cancellation.

How is he feeling and how does the abscess area look?

Spoke to the nurse today when she popped out to the house (he has a bit of a rash on his bottom now).
The absess pretty much looks the same as it did 2 weeks ago, looks like a purple bruise area with puss still coming out a small hole in the skin.
The MRI can only be done April 19th!! :ymad: However the community nurses are pushing for them to try get it done sooner.

Our GI made a requested for a MRI in early February and we have only just received our appointment for April 18!

Thanks. Spoke to the nurse again yesterday - had a bit of a rant! Poor woman. MRI now the 15th April which is a Sunday - strange. Our paediatrician has been away for 4 weeks but comes back on Monday, the nurse will be speaking to him as a priority as soon as she sees him.

:lol: Nothing like the squeaky wheel getting the oil! But I'm sure they can do better than that. Hopefully the doc can push things through a bit quicker. :goodluck:
