My wife has Crohns and had the operation 11 years ago. She now has a permanent stoma.
We had 10 years with no troubles but in the last eighteen months she's had a number of flare ups.
She'd been on a low residue diet for about the last year but when she wast admitted to hospital she was down to 7 1/2 stone. We got that back up to 8 stone 2. She has now started on Modulen and is struggling. She's a week in and her weight has fallen back to 7 stone 8 pounds and has very low energy levels.
We're concerned about this as we thought she would be getting her RDA's of nutrients.
I've had a good look on the Internet but can't seem to find any definitive advice for people with stomas on this diet.
Any advice or experiences would be helpful.
