stoma bag- adhesive remove,ran out!

:sign0085:guys... i am pretty much out of my adhesive remove, probably get a days worth out of it..and i only had the op two weeks ago today so ive only had one complimentary package through or everything and didnt get any in that.. do we have to pay for it or do you get it free? but anyway... the chemists are closed but i did go to boots and they can order it.. all the gps are closed.. my stoma nurses are on holiday till next year... what do i do i change my bag every day due to my stoma not healing very well and soreness of the skin.. has any1 had this problem before and what did you do? i cant seem to find the make on the internet to order it..i use Medi Lifteez, Adhesive Remover. I dernt pull it off without as i said due to soreness and my stoma not healing... any advice ASAP will be grea im desperate but stuck! thanks xx

Diddi... there are lots of companies who deliver all your ostomy needs to your home, and the service is particularly great because they do all the arranging with your own gp for issuing of prescriptions... one such company is called Fittleworth, tel.no. 0800 378 846.. they will also send you the extras such as adhesive remover etc - anything you need..

i think the first time you ring, they'll want to check with your stoma nurse that the appliances you're ordering are ok with you, so have your stoma nurse's phone number handy when you first call, but after that it's a doddle - you just ring when your supplies are getting low, ask for the repeat items you want, and they deliver it within a couple of days.

for now, i'd just use warm water, or a very gentle soap - just a bit - and make sure it's rinsed off well before you try to apply the bag. if the bag is well stuck and it's too sore to just pull off, try sitting in a deep warm bath for a few minutes and start to peel it off in the water..

im with fittleworth and i got a delivery within a few days of being home so they have been intouch with my stoma nurse etc but i didnt get any adhesive spray so ive only had the one and its only lasted me two weeks. and there closed for christmas and open again monday but it takes two weeks for it to arrive so im stuck at the minute im gunna have to see what i can do with ordering it through my gp or the pharmacy at the hospital. when my stoma bag gets wet it sticks more..my stoma nurse told me not to peel it off while wet as it makes it stickier so im abit stuck at the minute really. im just going to have to make do with the very little bit i have left and hope i can get hold of somewere that can order me one quickly
