Do any of you guys take particular measures to reduce stress? Ive recently started to realize that my "all is good as long as i dont say it out loud" technique is not cutting it for me anymore (i know its bad for your health but i guess it somehow worked for me the past 10 years) and feel like im just about to explode [emoji54] im nervous all the time and even snapped a few times at ppl (very unlike me)

i don't want to take any medication for it but was thinking that maybe acupuncture could help? (Ps. Im not into yoga unfortunately [emoji6] )

Thanks for the advice

AJ

Hi AJ, sorry your having a stressful time , i have found that i look at things this way , dont stress the big stuff, dont stress the little stuff, it's all just stuff.. and the Lord and or the universe will provide an answer or way out of pain, money worries, etc, some way - some how, if im just patient all will be good..
Now i know this wont work for all, but it seems to work for me, i have actualy been amazed at how things have come about to help me cope, and manage my life easier.. I thank God n the universe most days for my continued good health, and for the money i receive from my wages each month, and the good health of family n friends.I find my life is better for it.
hope you find your way to cope soon, sending you my best wishes for better health n happiness.:ghug:

I'm not great with battling stress but some things that have helped are:

-venting! Sometimes I just have to let out the frustration and move on.

-reading...this helps me before bed so I don't just lay there thinking about all the stressful things I need to do.

-adult coloring books...ordered one off of Amazon...great mindless activity to relieve stress

-video games...I have some games on my phone and kindle that I play to get my mind off things for a bit.

-sometimes I go sit outside...no phone, no tv...I just get a glass of tea and sit in a chair in my backyard till I finish my beverage. Seems to help calm me down if I am all worked up.

For me it's all about getting my mind to stop thinking about stuff. Yoga and exercise help to release some of the hormones that cause stress too!

Hi AJ,

I'm not personally that great about coping with stress, but I've tried Autogenic Training, a kind of mindfulness, that helped while I was practising it but I've fallen out of the habit. Also there's a specific mindfulness course called Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. I've not tried this personally, but some of my friends have and it seemed very effective for them.

Agree that exercise is good, but sometimes I'm not well enough to exercise, and that makes me stressed!

Something else I'm trying to do is cut down my commitments a bit, so im not overstretched and tired. For me it's about prioritising the important things and not trying to do everything, as I get upset if I can't do things to a good enough standard.
