My GI recently told me that the only thing left that might help me is a biologic like Remicade, Imuran etc. I had a resection done 11 years ago, and at the site of the resection there's quite a bit of inflammation. This inflammation is causing me to have a partial obstruction.
I'm hoping to find natural ways to reduce this inflammation so I can avoid the strong Meds. I'm currently taking Omega 3, Turmeric capsules, B12, Vitamin D, C, and Zinc.

In my experience most "natural" remedies (vitamins, herbs, supplements, etc,) tend to be rather mild and gentle in their effects - both desired medical effects and undesirable side effects.

Your inflammation may well be beyond the mild and gentle stage and require stronger medicine. I suggest you discuss natural remedies and the regular medicines with your GI and carefully weigh your options.

Why is it that you want to avoid Imuran or Remicade? They are both quite safe, especially Remicade.

If you want you can check out our Diet forum. Some people have found various diets SCD, low FODMAP, or other ones help them.

Avoid stress, eat foods you know that agree with you, and eat less when flaring. I am retired now and retirement really eased my symptoms. When I was working I tried to work afternoons and evenings. Mornings wreaked havoc with my system, I need peace and quiet in my mornings, and I never get up out of bed until the sun is well up. Any kind of rushing in the morning throws my entire body off.
Do check out the Biologics, nothing ventured nothing gained. Remicade has been a miracle for many, but for me it was a nightmare. You have to listen carefully to your body and work with it. Do the things and eat the foods that help and avoid those that only aggravate. Control the pain, pain causes stress and will draw the strength out of your body allowing Crohn's to prosper. I am a firm believer in proper pain control as part of managing the disease.

I thought Imuran wasn't a biologic?

I use Ginger, Turmeric, MSM, Krill Oil and Astaxanthin as anti inflammatory supplements. I also sleep on a grounding mat.

I also take L-Glutamine which my guts respond very well to. Not an anti inflammatory but very soothing in that it does decrease my bowel movements in a similar manner as cholysterimine.

None of this is curative, and I can get along fine without it, but it all seems to help to a degree.
