I've had a little cough for a couple days. Today I've got an itchy throat and sinus congestion. The nurse who taught me to do my Cimzia injections stressed how sick I could get with my immune system suppressed and to call the GI with any sign of infection. Is it really that serious? Do I need to call on Monday for an itchy throat and congestion? I've only been on Cimzia a week. :(

You should call just to be safe. Most likely they will tell you to continue your injections, but if you get a fever or anything that indicates an infection, you will most certainly need to stop until you recover.

since I've been on REmicade, I don't bother to call the doc unless I run a fever above 100....or have obvious signs of something being wrong....even with strep last year, I didn't call my GI, just went to urgent care for treatment.....and told my GI at my next appointment...

although - when I had pneumonia, I DID go to my GI finally, who promptly referred me to a pulmonologist.......

The average adult gets 3 or 4 colds per season. There are a few really nasty viruses going around right now. 3 out of the 4 people in my family just had a terrible hacking cough that lasted more than a week. We're all fine now without seeing the doc, but it seems even simple colds make us miserable.
It's hard to tell if it's something to worry about. I think you would feel a lot of pressure and some pain if it was a sinus infection though.
Hope you feel better.
