I'm glad for you. I hope you heal well and quickly. I had mine done 11 years ago and haven't had a major flare since. I hope you do just as well. :D You may still have symptoms off and on but should be able to function normally in general.

YAY 5 iron. I'm so happy everything went well with the surgery and I hope it continues to stay uneventful!

How was the surgery recovery part? I am going to have mine on August 9...was kind of suprised when the doc said I would be in the hospital 4-6 days...how long after surgery before you were able to have liquids? Any info would be greatly appreciated...just wondering what to expect. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Hi Tammy,

Roo was in hospital 6 days. She was only allowed ice until about day 4 when they removed her NG tube, then clear fluids only until her bowels were opened which was day 5. Roo's surgery was open and an emergency so your recovery may be more straightforward than hers. You won't be allowed home until you have your bowels open though.

HTH,
Dusty

Hi 5 iron: Best wishes as you continue to recover - and I hope you stay "recovered" for a good long while without major symptoms.

Hey tammy, I was in for 5 days, I had my ng tube removed the morning after surgery and was eating day 2 after the surgery and going toilet day one of mine. Although my case wasn't as severe as Roo's when she had her surgery, if I'm correct I think Roo's was emergency whereas mine was planned. They'll obviously start on soft food first but I was eating like a monster once I got home, maybe shouldve taken it easier although I didn't suffer any conciquences from it. Best of luck to you :)

Hey 5 Iron :goodluck: and :congratualtions: I'm glad things are going well. Just don't over do yourself and wishing you a speedy recovery.
