After weeks/months of waiting, decision is made and surgery is tomorrow. Won't know what time until tonight, but when I find out I'll let everyone know. I never know if it's better to start new threads are try to keep other threads going, but I just want everyone to know that I couldn't not have gotten through these last couple of weeks without you and the next couple are going to be even more interesting. Don't know if I'll be on here tomorrow, depending on surgery time, or how long after, but I will be thinking of you guys. Your support through all of this has been nothing short of amazing. A little of everything.....shoulders to cry on, games for laughter, and general support for those days that just suck. I'm glad to be associated with such a wonderful group of people. and with that, I hope everyone is well and has a great day/night depending on where you are.

Hey Bev, everything will be just fine!!!!!!!! Do not worry! Just think how much better you are going to be after a few weeks post surgery! We are all here thinking of you and sending you hugs and thoughts and sending you my special healing angel! Keep us posted when you can!!! ((((Hugs)))

You'll be just fine, and we'll be thinking of you!
hugs and love as always
xxxx

aw Bev.. tomorrow will be the first day of a better life for you, a turning point, a new beginning.... you will be fine honey. you deserve to be able to put all this pain and debilitation behind you, and i'm delighted that at last you're being given that chance.

i wish you all the very best for the op, and i will be keeping you in my thoughts constantly. please let us know how you're doing when you can... till then, we'll be saving a space for you on the forum sofa :) ((big hugs)) xxxx

Oh Bev - great news! ~finally~ you will get some relief! .....I will keep you in my thoughts - it was nice chatting this morning.....did you try to rest and have the doc come in early? lol.....

good luck bev for tomorrow im sure everything will be fine. wil be thinking of you and sending bigggg hugs.

I believe the surgeon called it an Ileum resection - is that the same as ileocolic resection? I should spend more time in the educational part of this forum instead of the game room and chatting because I really should learn more about the disease. I guess I've just been so overwelmed living with it and dealling with it the last couple of months the games seemed more theraputic. My family physician thinks it's going to be more than just the ileum and seemed very concerned. but we won't know anything for sure until they open me up tomorrow.

I'll just make all the new notes here and keep it one thread.......
Surgery is scheduled for 11:30 with a 10:30 pre-op. My family will probably be here by around 9:00. I plan to stay up late and sleep as late as possible in the morning, so you guys may not hear from me tomorrow. I'll get word to someone as soon as posssible to forward to everyone. All of you mean so much to me. Who would have thought 20 years ago that a group of people could bond so closely, so instantly over a thing called the internet. It's awesome. Tomorrow I will have God in the operating room, my family near by, friends from all over the world with their prayers and well wishes, and an excellent surgical team. I'm very optimistic that this will be a turning point. I'll be on and off tonight to see what's up. And, just an FYI, I've been avoiding new comers a little only because I was told one time how can you deliver a message to someone when your life is such a mess. As I've been in the hospital, drugged, and now surgery, I'm afraid of scaring people off. Thank God for those of you that stick around for me anyway, and you all know who you are. Love you bunches. :ghug:

Double good luck Bev,I had my surgery July 29 and I went back to work today, the whole process you are about to go thru is very bearable just not that bad,the secret to getting your gettyup back is as soon as you can lay off the morphine get up and walk, walk, walk, it's the best medicine in that hospital, you will get your appetite back faster, and get your crohns free gut moving things thru, will see ya on the remission side instead of the sick side tommorrow,GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey MisB,

This is great news, WOOHOO for you!!! I know you will do just fine.........onward and upward! Sending you all the luck and best wishes in the world.............

:goodluck::goodluck::goodluck::goodluck:

:getwell: :getwell: :getwell: :getwell:

Hi again Bev! Just passing along my positive thoughts for you as well. I know you're going to do great!! We'll be playing again in no time!! All the best:):)

I am amazed!.....3 months ago I did not know this forum existed. Now, 11:00 at night before major surgery I have all of you with prayers, well wishes, and more support than I can remember getting in a lot of face-to-face AA meetings when I quit drinking. And all on the internet all over the world. When I think of it, it is a miracle within itself.

My husband was so scared for me tonight, and I was comforting him. Reading your stories, the good ones, the hard ones, the recoveries, the struggles, and being able to relate to them have given me such comfort. I told him God will be in the operating room with a team of excellent surgeons and I am covered with good thoughts and prayers from literally around the world. I will be recouperating in the same hospital wing with the same nurses that have been taking care of me for the last 20 days and the staff here is excellent, so I know they will take good care of me after surgery. Because of all of this, I am more excited about the fact that I'm going to be able to eat some real food soon than I am scared of the surgery. I think I said that earlier, but I'm amazed that I'm excited and not scared about having my first major surgery and I owe my comfort to God and all of you. I'm currently under some pretty good meds too and probably should not be allowed to type right now, but I am. I think I'll go check out the blog sites I've been talking about so I can learn to use them and only bore those that choose to be bored.

All I can say is thank you so much to all of you for the support you have already given and giving me the encouragement to hurry back. Wishing everyone well and ya'll will get news as soon as possible because the suspense is killing me.

I think Dexky has graciously volunteered to forward notes from FB to the forum. Thanks Dexky, you are the best. And see, you did find the thread. I knew you could it.

ONE REQUEST: PLEASE SAY EXTRA PRAYERS AND/OR HAVE EXTRA SPECIAL THOUGHTS FOR LITTLE MADDIE TONIGHT. I UNDERSTAND SHE IS HAVING A ROUGH TIME. Knowing little Maddie is getting better and they are getting good news will make me feel better.

Good night everyone! or morning, as the case may be. Thanks for letting me ramble. I needed it. Be back in a few days.......

best of luck misB, i hope the surgery goes well and gets you out of the damn hospital! so you can go home and eat food. real. food.

OK, Bev's daughter posted this:

"Nothing "new" really, i mean i would talk more about the actual surgery and what all they did but im going to wait for my mom to get back on and tell everyone.
So far she is just in her recovering stage, she is in a bunch of pain and they cant really do anything because the doctors have cancelled all of her meds for right now. I mean we all know that what they did is going to make her able to eat again and not have to take pain meds anymore but right now its just rough seeing her in the stage that she is in now. I will for sure keep y'all updated! "

Another fb post by Bev's daughter:

Alyson Haynes She walked around a a lot today! shes doing much better! not sure when shes coming home but she is improving slowly!

Hi Mark,

Thank you for keeping us up w Bev's situation, she is such a doll. Here's hoping she gets through this painful part of things ASAP. I really wish she didn't have to deal with this at all.

One day at a time Bev! Hope you get on your feet and have a speedy recovery! It is strange here without you! ((hugs))

Mark thank you for keeping us updated as to how Bev's getting on :)

Bev - hurry up and get your forum head on - we're longing to hear from you, even if it's just "ow - where's my painkillers?" lol. ((big hugs)) feel better soon, hun. xxx

looking forward to that post-op update Bev!

I had an Illeum resectioning in '01. Now I battle crohn's and Time. The surgery kept me in remission for 7 years.

You're not alone. Hope all is going well.
