The good news is that with the help of immodium and maybe a shove or two I survived and loved my zip line adventure in Alaska The bad news is that on our last day I took a spill and managed to fracture my left arm in 6 places and shatter my nose. Could have been worse-could have happened on day 1- could have fallen from zip/although unlikely. Iriony is that I was rushing b/c I desperately needed a bathroom.
To all who gave me such great advice before the trip, thank you so much. I'm looking @ a 3 month recoup and another surgery plus learning to type with 1 hand.
I think of you you all and know that this is just a blip in my life.
BEST TO ALL OF YOU.

Wow! Bad luck with the arm and nose, hope it's not too serious.

I'm going to do the zipline this fall.

oh geesh! When you get hurt, you really do it!.......glad to hear you had a great trip - and yes, good thing the accident happened on the last day!.....

Hope you heal up fast - and, of of course, do you have any PICTURES from the trip?????

Lol great trip pun not intended. Will show pics once i enlist an extra hand. Such beautiful scenery in alaska! Thnx for well wishes :)

Hey Jan

I'm so glad you enjoyed your zipline
But please enlighten a thick Brit
What is a zipline?
xxx

Hi joan!
A zipline is a cord, about 90 feet above ground, attached to a tree. It usually goes through a rain forest. Ours consisted of 6 trees (you jump off from a platform & go from tree to tree. ) we also had to cross over to a tree via suspension bridge which was over a river and truly beautiful. Exhilarating but not sure i'd do it again considering i had difficulty manuevering a sidewalk. :) jan

OMG!!!!

It looks amazing, but I'd scream all the way down!
Think I'll put it on my bucket list too!

Screaming is the best part! I screamed "HOLY SH*TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!" all the way down. But you are so high up (650 feet at the start) that no one hears you, not even the monkeys. It's quite a release.

MicJac, did you scream your lungs out?

I'm sorry to hear about your accident. I am glad though you were able to enjoy your trip!

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to Alaska. Alaska is my home. :) I'm envious because I still haven't ridden on the zip line.
