Swelling?

Hi all, I went to the dr. yesterday, I've been feeling sore all over the tummy area, and under the rib cage. I'm still on humira though, should be doing a shot today in fact.

He poked my guts and told me that he could feel the swelling and that he's going to send me for tests ASAP.

What is the swelling he's feeling? Is it just inflammation you think? He also thinks the humira is not working I'm sure I will be changing treatments some time soon.

I just don't want any surprise ER visits or surgery.

Just swell LOL. Guess it's a stupid question.. But if they could tell that crohns is active just by swelling alone then that would be too easy.

How often do you take the Humira? If you take it every two weeks, maybe your doc could put you on weekly injections to see if that helps?

You got that too huh! My Dr told me last wk that he found fullness on my right side and said I needed more test too. Isn't it irronic that they make a statement like that and don't tell you more. I don't think they know personally

Hey Sharon, I'm doing the weekly dose of humira for the past several months. Thank you for the support. I did go for an ultrasound yesterday, it was kinda painful. The tech who did it told me to wait because he had to ask the dr. some questions. Then the actual Dr. came in and did it all over again. Who knows, results will be back in a week.

Bethy, you could be right that they don't know exactly what is going on. But it would be nice to hear something like " I feel swelling in the ileum area and fullness... this is quite normal with inflammation" or whatever the cause. Thank you for your comment Let me know what happens with your further testing please.

Don't worry too much about it. It's probably nothing and your doc ordered the tests to be safe.
