Hi! I have a question about my swollen lymph nodes and any advice would help because I'm worried.
I was diagnosed with Crohns a little over a year ago and my doctor put me on remicade immediately. I have never had terrible sinus issues until I started remicade. I get a stuffy nose, sore throat, and headaches. My lymph nodes swell up and I've been to the doctor 4 times since July because I was worried it could be cancer, but my doctor seems confident that it's not. I've heard horror stories about doctors shrugging off Crohns issues with other people, but my doctor isn't like that. He is always helpful. He puts me on antibiotics every time, and it helps the swelling go down, but it never goes away completely. The other sinus symptoms do seem to go away most of the time. I just got my infusion a few days ago and my neck is already swelling up again. I don't know if this is relevant, but my tonsils get swollen as well and that doesn't really stop either. Basically, I'm sick of taking antibiotics every time this happens and I'm also a little worried it's something more serious than sinus issues. Has anyone else had this issue? Did it turn out to be sinus problems or something else? Is there anything else I can do besides taking antibiotics every time? I should also mention that my GI didn't seem concerned at all. My regular doctor is the one giving me antibiotics and seeing me every time this happens. He did tell me it's good that the swelling goes down. So that gave me a little bit of relief!
Sorry for the long post! And thanks in advance!

Hi! I have similar issue. 4years ago I started humira biweekly and got the odd cold or sinus issue. Then this summer I started humira weekly, as soon as winter came I have had two bad colds that turn to sinus infections. Had to do antibiotics aswell. My dr isn't concerned, neither is my GI. I did go for another opinion and that dr wasn't concerned either. My blood work is all normal. One of the dr recommended using a saline spray a few times per day to keep sinuses clear. So far that has been working, I also wash my hands like crazy to avoid colds.

That makes me feel a lot better. Would the blood work show if I had something serious? They take some every time I have an infusion and most of the time it comes back good, except when my iron levels are bad. I will ask my doctor about the spray. Can it be bought at the store or is it prescription?
Thank you so much!

I think your bloodwork would show something is up. The spray is at the drug store, no prescription needed. It's all natural. Where do u live?
