Swollen swollen swollen

I am only on my first week of these steroids at a high dosage and i feel like im inside someone elses body. my legs have swollenup masively and my face and well everywhere. i feel like this big lump. im in the process of moving apartment and have been very active and not eaten masses at all and i stilll feel like this huge lump. i hatethis. i still have stomch pains and this is just rubbish. i hate this.
ready to give upand never go to the docs again.
I worked so hard over 6 yers to get the bosy i wanted and now a week on steroids i feel frumpy. im over exagerating i know but it has made me feel really down. im sure people are noticing and im getting embarrased. Anyone know how i can reduce the swelling.

This may sound like a stupid question, but are you actually swollen or just 'feel' swollen?

I ask because I didnlt swell but my body certainly felt weird, like I was disconnected from it. Kinda felt 'fluffy' all over like when I touched the skin (especially my back) it wasn't mine.

Now, if you are ACTUALLY swollen, may be worth a chat to the doc as I don't think that's sposed to happen apart from the face!

no im actually physically swollen. my legs especially. and my face. first thing wen i wake up its even worse, and as the day goes on it dies down but still very swollen.
i dont know if now i have noticed it though im building it up in my head maybe? no even my work trousers have always been big for me and now they much tighter. i think i wikl have to talk to the doctor maybe.

sorry i must seem like such a winge but its all new to me and i didnt realise medicine would effect my body so much thats all. x

Hi again, so if you are actually swelling it may pay to make a call to the doc. Steroids can make you retain water but I don't know that they usually do it that fast!

Hope you get it sorted - don't worry it can't be fat that quickly!

I know just how you feel. I was on steroids as a teenager and it made me balloon up like crazy. The evidence is in the photos. It was real and not in my head. My body was still skinny from the Crohn's, but by face was huge. Moon face is what my Dr called it. Also, I got a lot of acne (I guess I should say a lot more because I was no beauty queen prior to the steroids) and I was completely manic and could never sleep. The extra energy was the only thing that I liked about it. I was on them for a long time though. Just wanted to let you know that someone else has been there. Sorry you are dealing with this.
