We are starting our fundraising efforts for our Take Steps walk. I was wondering if anyone has any creative ideas for this. As of now, all we've done so far is just ask for donations, but I'd like to have some fun. Any suggestions? Our walk is June 1st so I have plenty of time to pull something together.

We did several "events" last year to raise money. We started off simple by designing purple awareness bracelets and selling those for $1. Those went quick and it was nice to see others wearing them in support of my girl. We also did 2 fundraising nights at local restaurants. That was super easy to arrange and promote. But our biggest event was our booth at the local farmer's market. We sold tutus and hairbows that were handmade by moms and kids on A's dance team and also raffle tickets for some awesome prizes we had donated (kindle tablet, Legoland tickets, etc.).

Definitely contact everyone by email, social media. You can sell a ribbon at your kids school or at a PTA meeting. Maybe set up a table at a busy place like the mall? It's for charity so maybe they allow for free.

I'm a little sad, they decided not to have a walk here this year. We've done car washes, everyone in his class brought quarters for a week. We were planning this year at his school to ask if everyone could pay a $1-2 to wear jeans for a day (since they are not allowed normally).
