I've been injecting Humira right out of the fridge. I wasn't really given instructions on the temp it had to be at the time of injection. A friend of mine just asked me why not let it set out and warm up before injection...pretty sure we can't do that. But if anyone knows please explain. Thanks.

I'm not sure of the temperature required at time of injection. I've only had my loading dose and I let it sit out around 15 to 20 minutes before the injections. It was still cold but didn't hurt too bad. Someone else might be able to give you a more specific answer.

Humira must be stored between 2 - 8 degrees C. It can be stored for up to 14 days at room temperature but must be stored away from light. I used to inject it right out of the fridge. I was always warned against storing it outside of the fridge and was actually given a freezer pack in case I needed to travel with it. Hope this helps.

I usually my pen to sit out for about 20 minutes prior to injecting simply as a means of reducing the sting that accompanies the injection. Cold or not, it is going to feel like a pinch for 5 seconds which is a infinitesimal price to pay for the benefits from Humira.

If you ask on the Humira hotline they will tell you to take it just out of the fridge.

The RN that came to train me told me to take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before she was scheduled to get to my house.

So it depends on who you ask.
