Hi Friends,
My 14 year old son has developed a horrendous rash on his face. It started about five days ago and its only getting worse! The dermatologist can't see him until four days from now.

The rash started on his forehead and its now moving down to his nose, cheeks and chin. The rash looks like tiny red bumps- almost like blisters. He says it feels hot, but its not really itchy. There are also a few bumps on his arms. I haven't been able to see anything on the internet that looks quite like it.

My son has been on remicade for Crohn's for ten months, and he is due for another infusion in five days. I have heard that rare cases of remicade induced psoriasis have occurred.

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone with any insight about this problem.

Thank you!

Hope (Colin'sMom)

Hi Colinsmom - Mt daughter has Remicade induced psoriasis. I sent you a response to your pm but wanted to post here as well to save everyone the time of tagging me.

lol, I was so going to tag you CIC.

Grace doesn't have this issue. Can you call the Derm again and say it's important to get in sooner?

Ds had a lot of rashes while on remicade .
Take lots of pictures .
We took pics every day so any major changes found be captured.
Has the Gi seen the rash ?
Sometimes they have an idea about what to do etc....

DS had drug induced rashes - roseaca , serrboric ezcema , and dyshrotic ezcema .
Can the ped see him quickly if you can't get dermo to look?
Can you email pics to the dermo /Gi ?

Thanks for the responses. I have been taking pictures. We see the derm and the GI in a few days, but no one will see him sooner. I can't seem to upload a pic because it says the file is too big. Anyway, I appreciate your help!

Any symptoms of illness such as fever, sore throat or fatigue? Some viral rashes sound like that.

Thank you for replies. I'm happy to report that the rash is better today. Still going to see the dermatologist and the GI armed with pictures in two days.
