Hello all,
Thank you for all your support since I joined the forum.
I have finally got a few diagnosis and finally getting somewhere.
I have had parasites living inside me for god knows how long.
I first got stomach problems from age 7. I'm now 27...
These parasites made superficial tunnels in my body to lay their eggs.
I have a fistula of 4.2cm with an abcess and a void.
I was told by doctors since I was 17 that it was stress, anxiety, depression.
I finally took a stand and told them no!!! And searched hard.
These parasites were giving me similar symptoms of crohns.
Fissures, abdominal hell, nausea etc.
Doesn't matter how sick you are with parasites, hospital can't help u.
It got to a stage where I could bairly eat food anymore.
Gluten challenge I had three slices of pizza and threw up
I think the parasites moved into my spine and lungs/heart near the end.
I was getting chest pain, heat waves over my body, joint pain, fatigue, headaches.
I spent hours of everyday studying to try find out what I had.
One night the fistula kept me up all night so I tried to work out my condition.
I self diagnosed parasites, doctors said no.
I self diagnosed a fistula , doctors looked at me like I was insane.
You know your body better than anyone else, never rely on one doctor.
I know some of you people with crohns believe this disease crohns is not curable.
I believe it is, there is no known cure now but there will be.
The MAP bacteria may be more responsible than you think.
Thank you all.
Daniel

Hello Daniel,
I am interested to know if the parasite was identified by laboratory diagnosis.,and is so do you have the name of the species.
Also which drug has your GI prescribed for treatment?
Hope you continue to feel better
Hugs and best wishes

The bug is called klepsiella oxytoca.
It's a bug in the same group as salmonella.
I had the bug most my life... Hopefully it will go away from my current treatment-
Gentamicin.
However, having it this long I wouldn't think it would be easy to get rid of.
Ohwell, see how it goes.
Thank you

Ps- I had multiple stool samples done with negative results.
Stool samples over years with no results.
It was only when I saw a really good GI in Australia who suggested my symptoms were from a bug of some kind.
He tested me for the bugs during a colonoscopy which came back 2 weeks later positive klepsiella oxytoca. He also ordered the MRI which found the fistula, abcess, void.
Otherwise I was coming close to admitting myself to a mental institution...
Got told too much that it was mental :(

Thanks for sharing. Can you let us know all the tests this GI did on your biopsies? And please let us know how the Gentamicin is going.
Thanks

hey dazza.. that's great you're getting some answers... that's a bacteria not a parasite though.. here's to the gentamicin helping! :)
