So...a funny or not so funny for this cold Saturday morning. We have a 14 year old Westie (dog), who suffers from Cushing's disease and most recently cluster seizures. We keep her medicine in a pill box on the kitchen island in the same manner we keep my daughter's medicine. When I give our dog her medicine, I always wrap it in a piece of pepperoni. As usual, I grab the pill box and wrap the pills in a piece of pepperoni and my dog gobbles it up. Then I see my daughter's pill cutter sitting next to my dog's pill box (the pill boxes look completely different) and realize I gave my dog my daughter's medicine. :ybatty: What have I done!?! I call the vet, freaking out! He gets on the phone and assures me it will be ok... I need a new plan to keep all this medication straight!

Oh no, I would freak out too.

Can you try different locations for the meds? Put the dogs on one side of a room and then hers in the medicine cabinet? That way you could think about what side of the room (maybe close to the fridge for the dog) you were on? Give it one at a time.

 both my daughter and our dog are on Tramadol! We do what FW says - dog's meds are downstairs near her bowl and M's meds are in pillbox (well several pillboxes!) in her room. We have to do it this way because S (my older daughter) also has a pillbox and so does my husband.

With so many people with chronic illnesses, we have a cupboard that literally looks like a pharmacy!

Omgosh here to! We are thinking about selling our house and I fear people looking in that cabinet!

Oh no mum! :ghug: But I must admit I had a chuckle when I read it, could see me doing the exact same thing!

No doubt you have plans afoot to stop a repeat! :) When you get over the shock that is. ;)
