I only joined yesterday and I've seen so many posts of parents who are so distraught, stressed, scared, and just exhausted. They don't know what to do and just feel like it's the end. I just wanted to say that I'm here for ANYONE who needs support, and from my own personal experience I know there is ALWAYS hope. I was diagnosed when I was just 7 years old with severe Crohn's Disease. It was all the way up in my esophagus, and all the way down to my rectum. There was very little point in doing any surgery because you can't just remove one's entire digestive tract. I tried every treatment they had available at the time and I literally did not respond to any medication I was put on. Most of them just made it worse because I experienced bad side effects. It seemed like the end when I was in the hopsital at 9 years old (2006), on death's doorstep from malnutrition and severe blood loss. My hemoglobin levels were below 2. Around that time however, my mom found out that you can treat Crohn's Disease with diet, and you just have to find what foods bother you and what foods help you. I was taking over 40 pills just from vitamins, and that along with the diet put me into a full remission in 2009. What I'm saying is even when it seems like it's the end, and there is nothing else you can do, God is always there and can perform a miracle so always keep your hope. Never give up even when you seem to have run out of options
