So I'm in that place I'm sure most of you have been before. I was diagnosed Jan 2010 with Crohn's. I've gone though three doctors trying to put me in remission. I like the one I have right now but I just got back from an appointment with him where he said he can do nothing more for me. He doesn't want to increase my Remicade because even though my first doctor tested me with positive results he has never tested me positive for Crohn's.

Where I'm at right now with my disease is I'm going to the bathroom probably seven times a day. It is greatly affecting my work; if I didn't have a good boss I would have been fired by now. I'm having normal stools for the most part.... just several times a day. I'm so disappointed he doesn't know what else to do, he said he doesn't have another drug to give me. We've tried them all.

Soo.. have any of you had frequent but formed stools and had luck with marijuana? Your response would be greatly appreciated. I'm feel like I'm against a wall.

It reduced my trips to the bathroom, and has allowed me to sleep through the night (for the most part). I started using regularly 2 weeks ago and am definitely glad I did so far.
I went from 5-7 to 3(sometimes 4) trips/day.

I was in the same spot last year. I got to where I couldn't even swallow and keep my pills down. The idea of even eating enough to take pain killers was torture. I saw some decrease in frequency when I smoked. I'm always in and out of the bathroom if I'm having anxiety issues, so the calming effect could have been why.

When I was taking prendisone, I though I was going to completely lose it. Smoking helped with that and the insomnia. The medical options for sleep medications (xanax and ambien) were a really bad idea for me.

Diet also is a good way to slow yourself down. Not sure if you've discovered what your trigger foods are yet, but finding out what you need to keep yourself well can take a while. I finally accepted my denial over whether or not I should be eating dairy and after giving it up, I've visited the restroom significantly less.

As someone who also has not been diagnosed, I can tell you first-hand that cannabis has been the single most helpful thing I have tried. I try and use cannabis products with high Cannabidiol (CBD) content as opposed to THC when I'm really bad. The THC is what gets you high, CBD's do not have that effect. And while cannabis with high THC content would probably help keep you out of the bathroom, cannabis with high CBD content will relax your gut without making you all stoned out. And if you live in a state that has medical cannabis, and you have a decent dispensary near you, you can find stuff with high CBD content that doesn't even need to be smoked. As I stated in another thread, the glycerin-based cannabis tinctures help me the most.

Actual both THC and CBDs get you high, but they are different highs. CBDs create a body buzz, while THC give a more cerebral high. CBDs are better for treating IBD, however they have more of a lethargic effect.

CBD's, on their own, have little-to-no psychoactive properties. In that regard, I suppose it would depend on an individual's definition of "high". While dosing with CBD dominant cannabis I most certainly notice a calming effect on my digestive system, and mild relaxation, but I would by no means consider it a "high". CBD's work in conjunction with the THC to create a certain effect or "high". A sativa flower strain may test at 20% THC and 0.05% CBD. That is going to produce more of an energetic, cerebral high. An indica strain, on the other hand, may have 15% THC and 0.2% CBD. That is going to have a more stony, relaxing body high, and perhaps a severe case of couch-lock. :) But take a closer look at those percentages(which are fairly standard). If you're smoking flower, the CBD content is almost always going to be drastically lower than that of THC. That's why people smoke flower to get high. They're using all the cannabinoids in conjunction with one another to create a desired state of inebriation. If you're looking to just get the straight medicinal qualities of CBD's, there are other methods that are more effective. The tincture I have right now has an extremely high CBD content, a very low THC content, and it works quite well without getting me high one bit. Basically, the ability of CBD to get you high all depends on the ratio of THC.

I'm finally able to sleep through the night thanks to mj.
My days are much better as well! Half the bathroom trips

It reduces the gut spasms and urgency for me. I had also developed a little fear of food when I'm flaring. MM helps with that. It also helps with the pain, the stress, and the anxiety that Crohns comes with.

It makes my whole aching body (arthritis) feel 'lifted'.

And I've never slept so well in my life, and unlike a klonopin or Xanax or ambien type sleep I don't wake up groggy.

Personally I find it does slow movement down a bit.

I am curious, though, since you posted in January, have you tried it?
