I knew this would be the big issue when starting the antibiotics since on a good day my daughter has an issue with vomiting in the morning. First morning on her pill regimen and she vomits up her morning pills. One of her pills must be taken on no food, and 1 hr before or 2 hrs after food so it made sense to start the day with it. I will continue to tweak her meds to hopefully keep her keeping in the pills but I wonder if anyone has some good tips to help keep the nausea down?

Can she maybe take the one pill, and after eating take the rest? Or does it have to be all at once? I feel for her. I hate being nauseous :( Hope someone has some good answers for you

She has 21 pills to take in a day, some cant be near each other, most equally spaced apart. Morning nausea stinks!

Hello, as much as i do not like taking a acid reducer I had noted in the past that with the extreme nausea i would experience with certain antibiotics i found that omeprazol made things more manageable. Can you ask your Dr. if this might help? Timing is also key.

Hope today is better for all

Is there any way that she can be woken quickly to take the morning pills an hour or two before she actually needs to get up and can then sleep through the nausea? When S was doing overnight feeds, my husband would refill the formula at approx. 5:30am because that's when he'd be up... any chance someone can just get her up for a few moments to take those pills? :ghug:

If I wake her she can't go back to bed... like her mom. I'm trying tomorrow to push back her morning start of pills to 8 am & hope it works. I was hoping someone had a herbal remedy or good solution to fight against nausea.

Sorry, wish I had better suggestions for you. :( Can she have tea? Perhaps a chamomile or other digestive tea might help (the warmth might help as well??)??

Carolinalaska sometimes mentioned essential oils... she hasn't been around for awhile but, hopefully, will see the tag. I don't know anything abut essential oils but have vaguely read of their benefits, perhaps they can help with nausea.

When I suffer from nausea sometimes sucking on a hard boiled mint really helps. I haven't found anything else that works as well as that.

Hello, herbal remedies and meds can be risky. I get what you are saying ~ something to reduce the nausea more naturally.
This could be a long shot ~ nurses who worked the night shifts had mentioned that stomach pain/nausea and being tired could be confused with hunger. How is her sleep? Is she well rested?
Also, what about stress? If you want natural, meditation, breathing technics, visualization and relaxation can potentially ease some discomforts. The mind is truly beautiful and has great possibilities to help comfort the body. It is worth looking into and i feel it should at least be offered when a chronic illness is present.

Sorry if this is off the beaten path. Hope someone can help. Nausea is awful.

Well it is now 3 full days in and she has successfully vomited every day. Nothing stays down before 11. Trying to tweak the med schedule without much luck so far. I keep telling her it is a work in progress. I think she doesn't believe me anymore
