Hi Jas and welcome.

It just breaks my heart to read of so many people lately joining the forum on behalf of their child. I am so sorry to hear of your daughter's suffering and her interactions to the medications. I do hope she can find something that works very soon.

There's a great thread for Parents of Kids with IBD and you will find lots of very kind and supportive people there with great advice.

Good luck! - Amy

My heart breaks for your little girl and you, although I was 16 when was diagnosed I still saw the pain my diagnoses put my parents through. Your daughter has a tough road ahead and she'll need you, stay strong. She's lucky to have a caring father. Have the doctors tried Lilada at all? Pentasa didn't seem to do any good for me either. Also did you see any results from the methotrexate shot? It might take a couple of weeks until you see results from the shot and hopefully it will help. My thoughts and prayers go out to you both, and remember they're always making new advances in medicine. Maybe by the time she's in high school they will have found a cure.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers,we are still waiting for the methotrexate to come in the mail, hoping it gets here today so it can be administered while she is still in the hospital

Hi jastarrett and welcome! I am so very sorry about your daughter. I can only imagine how you feel. As Amy suggested, check out the Parents of Kids with IBD sub-forum to talk with other parents going through what you are going through.

I sure hope your daughter will find a treatment plan that works for her soon. Please keep us posted!

My thoughts go out to you & your daughter. I pray she will recover & give you all the gift of decent health.

Hi jastarrett and :welcome:

I'm so sorry to read about your daughter and the need for you to find your way here. The upside is that is a fab place for support and info with many experienced and knowledgeable people hanging out here.

I have noticed, over time, a few people here with VSL#3 in their signatures. Here are a couple of links to threads about VSL#3......

Where is your daughters crohns located?

I'm glad to hear that the Methotrexate arrived and the first injection went well. I so hope it does the trick and your little girl can find some much needed relief. Please stay around and keep us posted on how you are all going.

:hang: Dad!

Much love,

Hi Dusty,
Thanks for the links, her last colonoscopy showed ulcers and inflammation from her rectum upto her asaphagis (spell check..lol)

Oh my Dad, I hope more than anything that the Methotrexate does the trick.

AZMOM's little girl had Crohns from her mouth to her anus when she was diagnosed as well. Have a browse at Julie's introductory thread as Claire has had issues with many of the medications as well......

Pop over to the parents forum if you get the chance and have a browse. It truly does lighten the load a little to know that you are not alone, to know that there are others out there that know exactly what you are feeling and thinking and to know that this is a safe place to speak as you feel.

Good luck mate...
