Tooth Whitening Causing flare ups?

Years ago I read on a Crohns forum that someone said they had a flare up from tooth whitener. Has anybody heard of this happening? Is it true?

I've never heard of that happening. Maybe it might affect oral Crohn's but again, I've never heard anyone mention it on here (there seems to be so few people on this forum who are mainly affected in their mouth). I don't see how it would affect the digestive tract as you aren't ingesting the stuff (or shouldn't be ). I suppose its something to look into but after having Crohn's for 20 years, I've never heard of it and I have used whitener myself in toothpaste and at the dentist with no issues.
