UC and IVF

Hi. I'm new to the forum and was diagnosed with UC back in March 2013. I was on Pentasa granules and suppositories as well as a short dose of prednisone. This cleared up after 6 months and I had a good run. My Dr said it was ok to start back with our IVF. As a result of the UC I did an overhaul of my diet and have lost 18 kg which in turn helped things out in our IVF quest. So we started again and because I also have Polycycstic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) our IVF Dr put me on Metformin (which also aids diabetes) and another medication that caused an instant flare up of my UC. Now I'm on Salofalk granules and enemas and 5mg of prednisone twice a day. I don't seem to be getting any better. I start getting up about 3am in the morning to go to the toilet and am then up very half an hour from then. I am suffering from major back pain and have no energy to do anything. I have another appointment with my GI Dr tomorrow but am scared as to what sort of treatment I will need to go on now. Needless to say our IVF plan has once again been put on hold.

Has anyone successfully gone through IVF and UC at the same time?? Does pregnancy make it worse??

I have no experience with IVF, and I have Crohn's, but just wanted to send support your way, and hope everything works out for you! <3 Hopefully someone else has experience with this, and maybe check out the TTC support group <-----? We are also trying to conceive at the moment, and I'm flaring and taking Asacol (Pentasa) and Prednisone enema... We just started trying to conceive last month though, so not very far along the road yet....
