UC and swollen painful ankles

Hello my son has had ulcerative colitis for 25 years and suddenly hes having terrible pain in his ankles, he cant walk, they are swollen, red and sensitive ro the touch. Doctors do not know why but think its connected to the UC. Has anyone had this experience and what did you do to make the pain and swellen go away. Hi there! Sorry to hear this. I have Crohn's disease and I often have the same problem in my right ankle...I have had numerous scans and tests but they can't find anything. The best thing I ever used was a compression sock, it works absolute wonders! Other than that...plenty of fluids, keeping feet cool and keeping feet elevated x
