Ds was 102 lbs at some point either nov or dec
Last appt Jan 4 with Gi was 100.6 lbs
This past Sunday 98.6 lbs at home
Today down to 97.4 lbs. at home
So 5 lbs total

He does have Gastroparesis but we monitor his calories to make sure he gets at least 2000 calories a day which Gi said was the goal
Ibd wise he is fine
He is getting blood work today
And gets official weight end of next week at Rheumo
Versus our home scale
Just frustrated he is doing well but still losing

I'm sorry. With such close monitoring, it is super frustrating to have him still be losing weight.

5% weight loss is significant (as I'm learning from you ;))

Hope the bloodwork gives you answers.

Did he have a growth spurt? My son will grow and lose a little but gain it back in a few weeks.

FYI, Grace needs up to 500 more calories a day during a flare. We adjust her formula daily sometimes.

No other symptoms
Belly pain but that has been there for years
Nothing excessive
Increased Fatigue
Joints are ok
As well
Will see where his number weight wise is at the Rheumo visit and then see what the Gi wants to do
May just need more calories
Or more formula

Before he was dx he had slow weight loss as well
But a ton more symptoms
Plus when humira isn't working he gets really sick not wanting to move etc.,,

Hoping it will level off soon

Sorry to hear... any increased activities? Perhaps it is as you said and just a need for more calories? When did the GI give you the 2000 cal goal? Has he grown since then, enough to warrant more calories to sustain his weight?

I'd guess he needs more than 2000 calories too. M needed 2400 to gain weight - her nutritionist and GI were very surprised since she is such a tiny person.

Might be worth seeing a nutritionist - perhaps since he's growing and so active he just needs more.

Sorry to hear. He may be having a growth spurt and so need to up his calories to accomodate. Hope the doc has some answers this week.

Sorry hoping it just needs an increase in calories due to something minor like a growth spurt.
I'm in the same boat we can't figure out the weight loss here either at lease nothing that is easily pointed to.
