Hey guys,
some of you may or may not know, depending on if you are friends with me on facebook, but i had an appointment with my surgeon on tue. I will be having surgery to remove a constricted section of my colon come May 5th. Hopefully this will solve alot of my problems for quite some time. the bad section is 16 cm in and i think its about 3 or 4 inches long. Hopefully they can remove it and attach back the 2 good sections to bring relief. Surgeon looks at things a very promising and is doing laproscopic surgery May 5th.. I will keep ya'll updated.

Bonus!! , laproscopic is sooooooo way less invasive! You are young and strong you will bounce back in no time! Did he mention post surgery treatment?

We expect a full report ;)!

Good luck with the surgery, hope it brings you relief for a very long time :)

Probabaly will just stay on the remicade because its been doing great for rest of my colon just have the one bad section

All the best Mark... can't wait to hear how it all goes. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

so happy for you!!
im glad that the surgeon feels it will be a simple surgery, thats always good.

will be thinking of you :)

Good Luck with the surgery. I hope everything works out well and that you feel even better after :)

Hope all goes very well! Best wishes for quick recovery and BIG improvement for you.

Well the surgery went good but the after effects didn't. I don't know if it was because of the epidural or what but apparently after surgery, my digestive system paralyzed itself or froze up or something because everything stopped going through my stomach and just started backing up. Had major hiccups and burping. Started throwing up a little and finally the doctors put a tube in a throat and into my stomach to drain it. It drained over 5 liters of black bile. After having it in there for about 3 days they took it out and things started working again. But they did find at least 2 abscesses, one they could drain the other was in a spot that was too dangerous to drain, right near one of the sperm tubes, if they punctured it then they would have to remove it which would mean i would be working with half my equipment.... So with the one they could access they put a drain tube in which is the worst experience i have been through, still have it in and it hurts like a son of a bitch. Hopefully they will take that out friday, since its not draining anymore. So i'm at home now trying to be able to walk and move, still sore as hell and hoping this tube will come out soon, its causing the most damage/pain.

Oh Mark, I am so sorry you are going through all this....after the surgery!!
Lets hope it all clears up as soon as possible.
Sending healing hugs your way.

Hang in there.

When one has bowel surgery, often the bowel shuts down due to the shock of being operated on. It after a few days comes back to life. One has a NG tube inserted to suck out the bile as it can make you sick. What you went through was normal but no one prepared you

good luck on the recovery

did that tube have the little stitch beside it? it hurt me more than the actual tube after a while! Hope you get it out and it does not start draining GI material. Stupid thing is a real pain to sleep with ain't it! ;)

Yeah got the tube taken out the spot with the stitches was the worst. thankfully it wasn't much of a problem to get taken out, its still oozing a little bit but its making sleeping earlier. so getting better day by day.

Pretty neat how they take that out isn't it. Going in was NO fun but coming back out was a cinch! I liked how the thing just unloops inside when they cut the string inside. I had my face all scrunched up and was like "OK ready"! And my surgeon laughed and said It's already out tough guy :ylol2:

I am glad to read that the tube got taken out. I hope you start to feel better as each day passes.
