Well, an update on me is after getting out of the hospital for the 9.4 Potassium level, I was shopping in Walmart 2 days after being released and apparently had a seizure. I woke up in an ambulance and was taken to the hospital.

They did a Cat scan and that was normal and I was given a reference to a Neurologist to get an EEG done & an MRI. I saw the Neurologist Jan 19th and he did a basic exam, doing these tests to see if I had any nerve damage and he said those were normal.

Both the Neurologist and my regular doctor seem to think it happened because I had a sudden drop in blood pressure or my electrolytes were off being I was just out of the hospital and the more I recovered, the less likely it would be to happen again and nothing has happened since.

I've had the EEG done and happy to say that was normal and March 1st I'll have an MRI and March 3rd I go back to the Neurologist to get the results of the MRI and discuss the EEG as well. The Neurologist doesn't expect the MRI to be abnormal & said the seizure was probably a one time thing. I hope so, anyway I'll let you know.

Wow, I hope that everything turns out okay! Definitely keep us posted. Will be thinking of you.

Oh EarthAnel, Im sorry for you. I know exactly what your going through....Ive had freak seizures before and its probably one of the scarriest feelings in the world. Lets hope it was a one time deal, and you never have to go through that again. Feel Better~

thanks, I hope it was a one time thing too. I don't remember what happened that night except being in the ambulance and hospital & what I was doing right before

Well, I went to a NEW doctor today and I REALLY like him. First thing he asked me was what concerns I had and he LISTENED to me and willingly answered all the questions I came prepared to ask him. He then asked me lots of questions and he addressed the concerns I had for my meds best he could.

Then he listened to my heart, lungs, looked in my ears, eyes, mouth, felt my tummy and he said that it's entirely possible that my low thyroid could have been the cause of my seizure. He said that thyroid problems can cause seizures and he ordered blood work to check my thyroid, liver function, kidney function, potassium levels and for infection.

I showed him my cat scan results, my blood work results, my echo results and asked me if I had any other concerns. He REALLY listened to me and seems to really care about me and my health. I love him, a very nice man. I go back in 6 weeks for a follow up.

My MRI is tomorrow and soon as I know, I'll let you know.
