Does anyone have one of these? Do you find it works well?
My diet is limited and I hoped to purchase one of these to make soups and add some vegetables and flaxseed, things I can't normally eat regularly.
Anyone have any experience with this?

Yes it's by far the most superior blender but it isn't a juicer so if you have a stricture or inflammation id still be careful with what you put in.

It's smoother than most but yes still can be a bit chunky depending on what you put. Flax seeds would scare me.

You will still get the fibre in there. It will smooth everything out but will not remove anything, unlike a juicer that will remove the solids leaving only the juice.

Juicing is a great way of getting the vitamins needed without the fibre (which can be bad for us), but if you are making soups and stocks I would go for a blender. I usually use a cheap stick blender for my soups out of ease and then sometimes sieve it to remove large pieces.

I have heard good things about that mixer, although they are very expensive. If you can easilly afford one then yeh go for it, but I would consider looking at other options as well as I would expect them to work just as well for a much cheaper price.

Just to add, all the raw vegans use Vitamix and they rely heavily on purées and pates in their diet so they are kind of expert in the blender/juicer field. Just wanted to add that 2 cents in as further support for why I think this blender beats the competition.

I have a Vitamix Blender AND an Omega Juicer. I'll do fruit smoothies and the occasional green smoothie (because I need to avoid fiber) and then I'll juice my greens with the Omega.

I can comment on the Vitamix and what our family uses it for...but not necessarily as it relates to crohn's.

We use it for smoothies, making sorbets, soups and sauces. It stays out on our counter because we use it almost daily. We also have a juicer on the counter all of the time. We make lemonade, OJ and other fruit and veggie drinks w/the juicer.
