Anyone using a water filtration system (like Brita) that *isn't* attached to their sink faucet head? I can't attach one to mine because of the faucet type I have. Thought about getting the Brita, but didn't know if that was the best one to get.

I use a Brita daily. Works fine. Just have to replace the filters ever few months. I got the biggest one so I don't have to keep refilling it.

If you have a well you should get a "whole house" filtration system. I've installed many of these and they will run you between $300 - $500 and you will have to change the huge filter monthly and the small fiter weekly, but nothing makes it past them.
It may be more expensive depending on where you live.

Gads...we've had a well before with huge salt block softening tanks etc. Pain in the BUTT! I could barely lift the salt blocks and you needed 3 or 4 per tank. We had *great* water there though :( Miss that place...

I'm on city water and a friend has convinced me to give up my bubbly waters and just drink water.....so, I'm already tired of filling the city dump with empty bottles. And I don't like our tap water. Wish I could find a filter that would take out the nasty chlorine.....

Fen, the people that we stayed with when you and I hung out said you guys have GREAT water there in Brooklyn. She was all braggadoshish about it and everything ;o)

I added a filter to the back of the refrigerator - takes up less space and it is cool

I have one of those clay water filters that sit on the kitchen counter and you also have to change the filter every few months.

I use a Brita jug i keep in the fridge, i like that my water's always cold, and refreshing. It tastes great, like water should, our water without it tastes horrible!

I have the system in my house as well as a UV system running before it gets filtered. Yeah it is exensive, and the filters,,, not cheap. But worth it in the long run. The calcium build up was causing so much damage to everything else. Plus I get kidney stones and it is assc with it.

So I guess my hubby loves me  because it wasnt cheap!

That is the bomb Jetta! The only thing you are missing is the reverse osmosis at the sink! My in-laws had this in Maui. Between the UV and the RO - I bet that was some CLEAN water!

Yes, it is great, and I DO have a reverse osmosis tap, right beside my coffee maker! The filters for that aint cheap either. My jacquizzi tub bottom jets clogged because we installed it when we didnt have the UV, RO, or soft water machines so the bottom jets are clogged and we tried everything and called the company MAXX but nothing... I miss having one. We are on a dug well, so we have to be careful of our water supply. We only ran out once, stupid me watering the front lawn....hey I am blond and was new to wells ;).

You need one of these that way the plastic bottles can get reused and you can buy them at a local grocery store or have them deliverd.

Oh and I will have water filtration system in my place in a few weeks.:)

I buy my own bottles and fill it with the RO water and have the caps, cheapest way and I dont have to drag in heavy bottles from my car.
