Does anyone have problems with eye inflammation? I had this before and now my eyes are starting to bother me again... painful and red.

Also does anyone suffer from a super running drippy nose? This drives me crazy... Its absolutely awful. I also get very sore inside like the sinus tract? I don't know if this is from the runny nose or a actual sore in there. I cant see up my nose. I am going to mention this with my GI when I see him.

Hi Cecilia,

Unfortunately, those symptoms can certainly accompany IBD.

In this thread I talk about utilizing castor oil for my inflammation under my eyelid. It's very alternative, but it has already made a HUGE difference for me. Of course, this was after two visits to an opthamologist and his two different kinds of eye drops did nothing for me except dent my wallet. If you haven't seen one, I think I'd probably give that a go, first.

I get a lot of pain in my left eye but never knew it was related to crohns!

I had been to the optometrist to try out contacts ... I had only been wearing the contacts for 2 days when the pain started....the optometrist found inflammation in my left lens... so I stopped using the contacts... but I still get pain in the eye on and off... (even though the incident with the contacts was over 18 months ago) so I put it down to crohns...

I also get the runny nose... and a lot of other flu symptoms... without ever having the flu... and as I type this now... I have a HUGE ulcer inside my left nostril....

So you are not alone!!! Definitely mention it to your GI... he/she might be able to recommend some treatment...

My eyes get sooooo itchy. I kept thinking it was allergies. They itch so bad i have to remove my make-up and put a cloth on them. The tear duct swells and my eyes get super red. Maybe it was crohns all along. After reading these, I wondering now...

Yep, My eyes get red, goopy, swollen and sore on and off. It is related to the Crohn's. I was given drops from the doctor at a walk in clinic that have steriods in them and they seem to make a difference.
I`ve never noticed a runny nose or nose sores though. I guess I`ll just be thankful for that and hope it doesnt happen since I seem to have every other possible symptom of crohn`s disease.
