Hello, I am new to the forum because I recently am experiencing my first real flare up after 2 years remission. Forgot how bad it can get. Anyways, I just want to describe the symptoms and see if anyone has similar? Maybe I could have some sort of blockage, but I'm not sure.
The symptoms got really bad the day I had a terrible fever. I was naseuous and had no appetite. The frequent diarrhea started with LOTS of blood and the urgency which I had not missed. The extreme fatigue too. These symptoms kept on strong for a couple weeks. Now I am feeling a bit better, but I go like 2 days eating regularly and only passing blood, gas and mucous. I feel full and usually in pain, but then for the next 2 or 3 days I will have the diarrhea, still with blood, and undigested foods but passing so much liquids stool. It's like I'm clogged for a couple days then it all
Comes out at once and so urgently. During these days I cannot do normal tasks because of having to run to the toilet. Is anyone else's stomach so off and on?? Also I'm passing more blood than I remember passing even in my worst times. This worries me

Oh and also on the "constipated days" I experience some acid reflux and heavy back pain after eating :-/ and feel tired in a different way like my head is foggy. And on the diarrhea days my body is more tired.

I have been having this issue recently myself, although not as severely as you. I've been put back on steroids for the time being, but now I'm down to 15mg it's starting to happen again .

I'm planning on calling the IBD nurse tomorrow and I will report back what she says. When I first contacted her she said it was just a nasty flare even though the symptoms were so different to what I usually experience.

The only thing that made me wonder is she decided to press on several areas of my stomach which she's never done before. One spot in particular was very sore, but she didn't seem too concerned by that as we know I've got activity there.

Hope you get some relief, I'll report back anything potentially useful to you!

Just seen you mention back pain too. I was suffering this at the same time as my flare started so they've x-rayed my back to check for sacroiliitis. If you haven't already mentioned it to your Dr I would get them to check it :)

If you cannot get a conversation or appointment with your GI very shortly I mean in the next very few days, I would go to the hospital emergency. You need to fix this flare asap before risking any complications. Wishing you well.
