What a fricken day

So I went to my doctor today. WOW it was a fricken horrilbe visit. I went in hoping to come out on some medicne to help with my disease but nope. Here's the conversation ..... so your still having a hard time with the abcesses and fistulas? yes i am well hows your bowel ? well doctor its not doing to good i'm flaring up pretty bad thats your opinion not a fact. Really doc like i don't know myself. Then he start writing persciptions for some medications based on tests he ran a month and a half ago b4 my hospital stay and he wants me on vancomiasine (sp) a medition that i react very badly to. And he wants it given by IV with a home nurse .... i have six little sisters the youngest is 6 monthes old and he wants me to have an IV at home ? Then to top it all off he starts talking about keeping the wounds clean without asking want i'm already doing ( showering after each BM, using baby wipes, changing the dressing) and tells me i want you to use baby wipes to stay clean you know what those are right ? i have never felt so bad after leaving the doctor b4 .... then to top off my day my bank account is hacked and i'm out 200 dollars till things are fixed ...... welcome to my life :eek2:

I'm so sorry for what you are going through, this doctor seems indifferent to your case, can you try to transfer to another one? I believe some doctors from the amount of patients they see daily they lost the passion for their job and they sum you up as a case not a human and I strongly believe no amount of persuading them will get them to listen. I know cause I'm in between doctors currently cause my last one seems he can't do more then prescribe higher dosages. I'm sorry for your bank account, I hope it gets sorted out as soon as possible, hang in there, sending positive vibes your way

I hear you...I had the same conversation and lived with pain for months before the doc agreed that it was a flare up and not apendicitis or ovarian cysts or hip trouble or some such junk. It turned out I needed a resection. I really hope you get your insurance stuff straightened out...I agree with the above post that perhaps a new doctor would help. Be strong and know that we get it.

You definately need to find a better gastroenterologist. I noticed that he has you on no meds for your crohns, despite the fact that you have fistulas and abcesses. Now he is trying to write you prescriptions for tests that were done 6 weeks ago???

Dont waste any more of your time. Find someone else - who has experience treating crohns. The best docs are normally found near the best hospitals - not in your family neighborhood. Maybe you can do some research and find out who is the best in your area. I hope you get the insurance sorted out soon, so you can find a doctor who makes you feel better - not worse!! Hang in there
