I had a appiontment with a surgeon because I have developed fistulas he suggested a procedure where they would put a stitch in the inside and leave it in for a few weeks and then remove it (Sorry can't remember what it is called).

I was wandering how effective is it?
What can go wrong?
Do you feel different after it is done like you can feel it inside you when you are moving around? (I have Aspergers Syndrome as well)

Thanks to anyone who answers.

Hi Philip,

Welcome to the forum. I cant answer your question, but I'm sure many others here can.

Regards

Paul

Did he call it a seton? They are as effective as anything else for perianal fistulae. Which means they hold the tract open so it has the chance to heal but whether it does so in a plausible manner and doesn't re-abscess is down to luck. And yes if this is what you are refering to you can sometimes feel it, not always, and it will often drain....

Welcome, BTW!
