What does it mean?

Twice recently, I have had bms that have had a dull red to them. Is the dullness more serious than if it were bright?

Could be light blood or stained from something you ate? Beets and certain food dyes can make our stool red.

I also had a stool yesterday where part of it was white and I have had some bright red on the toilet tissue. I have an appointment with the doctor next Thursday.

Glad to hear that you're seeing your doctor. Bright red is blood and white is mucus. Sometimes, the mucus is showing that your body is trying to fight whatever is going on. But, it never hurts to be looked at. Please keep us updated. :hug:
