what is heamoglobin and CRP in a blood test?
My husband is currently undergoing investigations for IBD or Crohns and has given a stool sample, had a coloscopy which didn't shown anything, he has been booked in for a flexible sy-something on thurs and also an abdominal scan. It all seems to be happening very quickley which is great but i am confused to what the bloods mean. He has a haemoglobin of 14.4 with a CRP of 52???? Our dr is great but he is soon to have his 3rd blood test and yet we still have no idea what these mean we are just told they are showing something is wrong? He has had stomach cramps and pain off and on for years now but its getting worse and he passes blood every day at the mo in his stools. He went to the drs last year and the did a scan which showed nothing so it was left. It comes in bouts prob 2-3 times a year but this time is bad and has had to work from home for nearly a month as commute to london in pain is too much.
We're now looking forward to getting some answers but just wondered if anyone could shed any light on what these blood results mean?
