What put you in remission?

i would like to know what drugs have been most successful with putting people in remission or just helping them live a fairly reasonable day to day life? im in a major flare and even pred isnt helping! im unable to cope with this pain anymore.

Humira is slowly working for me, still some unpleasant blips but less frequently. Also on aza and pred and enteral feeding.

Three infusions of Inflximab did it for me. I'd started on Azathioprine three months prior to the first infusion and am still on it for the forseeable future.

I'm pretty close to remission. I'm on remicade, imuran and lialda. I also did a couple months on entocort.

Remicade did it for me - got the Crohn's under control and now I am finding all sorts of other problems now that the abdominal pain is gone! Thyroid is out, estogen dominant, adrenal suppression, low ferritin More fun things to cope with.

Inflximab and methotrexate

Three infusions of Inflximab did it for me. I'd started on Azathioprine three months prior to the first infusion and am still on it for the forseeable future.

I could not tolerate aza and at present on entrocort but I have to decide between Inflximab and methotrexate. Any info on how you gt on with Inflximab old be helpful.

For me, it was Humira. I was on it for 3 glorious years; was able to work full time, no naps, just 3 years of remission and normalcy for the first time in my life. I never had any side effects. It was as close to a miracle drug as there is. As all good things must come to an end, the Humira caused Lupus for me, and I had to go off of it last year. Just started on Methotrexate this past week after trying Entocort for 1 yr. Just wasn't enough though. I am super nauseaous with Metho, and I never know when it's going to hit. Super tired too. Some days I feel great, others YUCK. Hoping side effects will taper off as I keep going. I truly miss the Humira!!!

It was pretty much a wonder drug for me, Jeffer. I had a bowel to bladder fistula and abscess and inflammation in the TI. Had been on Pred for 6 months and Aza for 2 when Gi sent me for pre-op for a resection. By the time I got there, the abscess and fistula had healed, but not the inflammation.
They decided to start me on Remicade/Infliximab and after the second infusion, I felt brilliant and had an all clear colonoscopy after the third.

I'm on Apriso, and I've been in remission for 3 years. Given my age (i'm 19) and my active lifestyle I would be surprised if I wasn't in remission. Luckily, I haven't had any really terrible flare ups, I had a really serious bout of C-Diff that almost killed me, but I recovered and have been in remission since. I haven't met many Crohn's patients that take Apriso; I think it has to do with how mild my crohn's is and my age. It works though!
