I was wondering what supplements everyone takes, as everytime I go into a health store they always come up with more things.

Im taking the following

Lquid D3
Calcium and mag mix caps
Folic acid because of the MTX
Probiotic

multivit and mineral, garlic caps,folic,b12,calcium with d3,probiotic 3 million, acai, fish oil.Pysillium. Diagnosed U.C. 6yrs ago.Meds. Asacol supps. Most of the supplements I have taken for many years. If I stop the asacol for longer than a week, I flare.so its not worth it.would know which supplements to stop if I had to choose,as I feel they all help in some way. I'm 63 by the way,so I need all the help I can get.

I started on wheatgrass capsules to try to cut down the acid and it made my ill. I use a sports supplement called High 5, 4in 1. Its used mainly in cycling and other sports . It basically keeps me going energy wise when im burnt out at work or cant eat solids.

100+ Manuka Honey, you can read all about it's benefits anywhere on the web, also, in some people with MRSA they are using it to treat them, of course that's only in cases that have become resistant to the anti-biotics.

Calcichew D3 Forte, I was on Pred for about 7 months and I was advised to take the aforementioned along with it, I'm off the Pred now since August 2011 but I still take 2 tabs daily.

And then I drink a Berroca Multi-Vitamin drink daily.

Jarrow EPS Probio: 2-4 a day
Source Naturals Ultra Potency Enteric Coated Fish Oil: 4 a day
Jarrow Unflavored Whey (no rbst) 2-3 scoops a day
B-right B complex
Sublingual B12 w/folic acid (5mg/400mg)
Source Naturals Meriva Tumeric: 2 a day
Jarrow Selenium Synergy: 1 a day
Jarrow BroccoMax: 1 a day
Grapeseed Extract: every couple days
NOW food based multi: 2 a day, sometimes every other day
Magnesium Malate: 3 a day, sometimes every other day
K2: 1 a day
5,000 D3: every other day, or so
Zinc Picolinate: every couple days
D-ribose & L-glutamine when working out

Specifically, I NEED the probios, fish oil and whey to remain symptom free. I only take these and LDN constantly. The magnesium, K2, Selenium, B complex, B12 have been pretty steady for 4 months or so. Energy is still somewhat an issue, but whey and working out/jogging is the best antidote. Joint issues still arise once a month, or so--we'll see if working out more consistently helps keep this at bay (perhaps adding yoga once a week?). Also, I'm wondering about a more strict mineral regimen, for joint issues, of things like: Magn, K2, D3, Zinc in addition to Calcium and maybe big doses of MSM or Glucosamine/Chondroitin...

Diet and exercise are more important than most supplements though. There are others I take every now and again not worth mentioning. I'm a supplement junkie.

The supplements I'm taking are:

* 5000ius of D3. That helps me to reach a testing value between 60 to 70ng/ml. I also use a D3 UVB sunlamp most days.
* 2 Vitamin K2-4 and K2-7 capsules
* Magnesium water drunk through the day
* Around 2000mgs of EPA/DHA from Fish oil
* a curcumin capsule in the morning. It is thought to be anti-inflamatory.
* Kelp which is rich in iodine.

I take iron supplements, folic acid, and a multivitamin. I usually have about 1 bottle of Ensure every day. I am also about to start taking Caltrate with Vitamin D after my bloodwork returned yesterday showing low vitamin D.

It dawned on me that I forgot to mention one of my favorite supplements that I take is melatonin. Thought it worth mentioning as it might be of help to others.

I take 3mgs of time release melatonin shortly before hitting the sack. Many know of melatonin for its ability to help with sleeping, and I can testify that it helps well in this area, but the hormone also has several other uses in the body. When I first looked into taking this supplement, I learned that not only does melatonin help with a good night sleep, it is though to help with absorbing nutrients too. I believe most melatonin is found in our intestines.

I don't know if melatonin helped me in this way, better nutrient absorption! But after 4 or 5 years of taking the supplement, I have no complaints.

-CLA tablets. (conjugated linoleic acid)
-Omega 3 enteric coated 1000mg fish oil capsules
-Vitamin D tablets
-Hemp Protein Powder

Started working out/eating healthy for new year so after reading through god knows how many reviews and peoples opinions on here i take all of the above vitamins/supplements together with prescribed meds to keep me going.:ycool:

Supplements That Seem To Be Helpful

I have been taking a kind of health drink cocktail mixture that comes in powder form mixed with water, and consists 3 different things: one, calcium, two, a daily Multi-vitamin drink, which is a combination of beta-Carotene, Vitamin C, Vitamin B-12, Magnesium, Zinc, Potassium etc. The third supplement I take is a powerful Bioflavonoid called OPC-3. It has very strong anti-inflammatory properties and is made of grape seed extract, Pine Bark Extract or (Pycnogenol), Red Wind Extract, Bilberry Extract and Vitamin C. Crohn's disease has a lot to do with inflammation and this Supplement seems to do a very good job of controling it. Even my joints seem to have benefited from this stuff. Formerly I had a lot of trouble with my knees. Anyway, being that it is a powder (patented and called Isotonix)that quickly disolves in water, it is actually absorbed into my stomach lining in as little as 5 minutes, where pills take hours to absorb. In my case, I had a lot of my intestines taken out, so something that is quick absorbing is very important. Heck, even my skin has taken on a smoother more youthful appearance. I'm 61. Great Stuff!!

I take a variety. I've been experimenting off and on. However, if I'm consistant and take everything my symptoms seem to diminish for the most part. I gained a lot of insight from my naturopathic doctor and this is what we came up with.

Fish oil (4 capsules, thinking about switching to krill oil)
coconut oil (2 tbsp)
multi (prefer meal replacement due to stomach issues)
Osteo K (6 capsules spread throughout day)
vitamin D (1,000 sublingual)
magnesium (250mg)
taurine and glycine
therbiotic complete

I was taking GI fortify (combo of anti inflammatories) to control crohn's but its a diuretic. I only take a small amount every now and then. I was also taking interfase digestive enzymes but any digestive enzymes makes my gastritis worse so I'm avoiding them for now.

B12 injections daily
thiamine
folic acid
iron (EOD)

Hmmmm. Is isotonix easy on the stomach? I need something like that because pills kill me.
