Well I have been having a flare up for a good 4 days now and on saturday morning I started a clear liquid diet. Also I have been taking about 15mgs of pred since saturday and this morning I tried to eat something for the first time. Was just a hard boiled egg without the yoke and after eating it it just came back up. Right now it just feels like my insides are just a bucket that has no way of anything getting through besides liquids.

Plus I have not had more than a few hours of sleep each night though the pain is not as bad as it normally is I just feel totally drained. I would call my crohns doc but I have not talked to him in a good 6 months and he only works on thursdays and fridays and I dont care for him anyways. He will just tell me to goto the hospital so I figured I would ask some of you if I still have hope of getting through this flare up without going to the er or if I should go to avoid further damage.

To be honest, I think it's time to go. If you can't eat anything, you're probably blocked and will need more than 15mg of pred to sort you out! Good luck!

Zach,

I agree with Rebecca, it time to go. Hope they get things sorted and that you are feeling better soon.

15mg is not enough to help, just my opinion. 35 to 40mg might, but if you are that poorly go, you dont know what you are dealing with. Good luck and keep us posted.

I think it would be a good time to go. Please don't wait to long and the obstruction can become worse, with more pain.

After 4 days it doesn't sound like it's getting any better and your dwindling supply of prednisone isn't helping either. I would definitely call your doctor or go to the hospital.

Very much in agreement with everyone so far. If indeed you do have an obstruction, you risk much more serious injury by waiting. I'd get into the ER much sooner than later.

And in terms of not really caring for your GI doc, don't not switch just because you think you might hurt their feelings or anything. You're the one with the issue and if you feel you might get better results or even just a better bedside manor with another doc, then go for it.

Thanks for the help guys im in the hospital now (stupid NG tube though I guess it has saved my life more than once) When I first came in they thought they were going to have to do another resection but I told them only do it if it was my last option so they waited and so far so good though its only been a day.

Guess I kinda knew when I said I am feeling no pain yet that it would all change rather fast and once in the ER I did not think they would get the morphine fast enough and after all their weird milkshake dye junk you have to drink came back up over and over I was not feeling so great. Hate drinking that stuff for the scans but I guess they saw what I knew was going on.

But again good advice and I need to just trust my instinct and not my financial stress.
