White blood cell count?

My gp just redid CBC because she said a few weeks ago it was a little low. What exactly is the relevance of that ? Thanks.
 
I've dealt with this for about 15 years now.It means you have less disease fighting cells and are more prone to infection.
 
If your white blood count values are only a little below the "normal limits" it is unlikely to cause a problem. Doctors may still recheck to make sure the wbc isn't going down any further. You could ask your doctor for the actual value and whether it affects your susceptibility to infection.

Low WBC are often related to medications. Are you on one that lowers white cells?
