It seems like every time I start to feel better something goes wrong. I've been feeling great for the past 5 month. Not to much pain, no throwing up, or using the bathroom as much. On 10-7-2014 I woke up with crazy crazy pain in my side. I called my doctor freaking out not knowing what to do. My doctor told me to come in and see him. When I got there he said that I had an abscess and they had to cut it open and fix it up. Dr. Rex told me that if it was any closer to my stoma then I would of had to have surgery, I just don't know what to do anymore. I just want to lay in bed again all day and do nothing. Any advice for me on how to deal with this nonsense??

Don't lay in bed and do nothing! I know what it's like to feel that that's all you want to to, but I always find that if I get up and do something, I'm better off for it. Get up early in the morning, get outside, exercise if you're well enough to do so. Spend time with people who make you happy, if you can. Basically just take your mind off the disease. Your doctors will sort things out for you - leave them to think about how to go about treating this (assuming you trust your doctors).

This is just one problem - you will almost certainly have good times again.

I agree - it is all to easy sometimes to just basically give up on having a 'good' life - I have found myself at times not feeling the greatest and wanting to just sit around - but if I force myself it is amazing how much of a difference just getting out and about can make! Not only physically but mentally too...it doesn't have to be anything big or strenuous - sometimes just puttering around can really give me a lift.

Look on the bright side - you had a great 5 months, right? Dont let one crappy day/week negate all of that and remind yourself that you can have that again - and hopefully a longer period the next time!!!

Lastly, even coming on here and venting/talking can be therapeutic...I know it has been for me!
