I find smoothies, vegetable juices and ripe bananas make a good breakfast. I make the smoothies and juices at home and then transport them to work for consumption later in the morning.
For breakfast this morning I had:
6am smoothie made with spinach, banana and water.
10am smoothie made with half a pineapple, half a papaya, a very ripe banana, a handful of blueberries, the water from one coconut and soaked chia seeds.
I saw this breakfast smoothie recipe on a yoga website and tried it and it certainly fills you up for hours  :
6 sulphur-free dried dates
¼ cup raw almonds
5 raw walnut halves
1 tablespoon raw sesame seeds
1 tablespoon raw sunflower seeds
1 medium ripe banana
½ mango
½ avocado
2¼ cup rice milk
1 tablespoon lecithin granules
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon spirulina powder
1 teaspoon vanilla essence - but I used a real vanilla pod.
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Soak the dates, almonds, walnuts, sesame seeds, and sunflower seeds overnight in 2 cups of water. Drain and set aside. Place all the ingredients in a blender and whiz for 2 minutes. Serve in tall glasses with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. You can use other fruit in season.
If you don't like rice milk, you could also use dairy milk, soy milk, nut milk, hemp milk, water from a coconut or plain water.
