Hello all.
I'm going through a colonoscopy + endoscopy in 2 days.
I take antiinflamitorys... Should I stop taking them to help get better reading?
My GP said I can keep taking them but won't it upset the Results?

What anti inflammatorys do you take? If its prescribed medicine then you should keep on taking them (they normally do a colonoscopy to see how well they are working, stopping them wont be of any benefit)

Do you have a diagnosis of Crohn's or ulcerative colitis? If so most anti inflammatories eg ibuprofen, diclofenac etc can make you worse. Definately worth telling your gastro if you are on these.
(When you say anti inflammatories I presume this means the same as in the uk...non steroidal anti inflammatories- if not then ignore above)

I'm on feldine. It's a normal antiinflamitory.
I have been diagnosed yet so I was wondering if taking them may hold back a diagnosis?

It's a NSAID, so if you do have some sort of IBD then taking that will make you worse, and show things up more clearly on a scope, and actually make a diagnosis easier.

Part of the reason I got diagnosed so quickly was because I had been taking ibuprofen continuously for 2 weeks!
