Hey

So I currently in my final year at university and looking into the possibility of doing a year-long working holiday in New Zealand and I am wondering if anybody from the UK has done this whilst being treated with Infliximab (Remicade)? Or if you have done a working holiday in New Zealand whilst being treated? If you have any advice/guidance would be great!

I am still in the investigation phase so haven't approached my consultant about it yet, just wanted to know how people have gone about it and their experiences

Cheers :thumleft:

Hi Dom,

I believe the health system here is similar to the UK but I think you need to be a permanent resident here to use the system.
Private insurance here won't pay for Remicade so your only option would be the public system. Check the immigration NZ website for more details on health care elligibility.

You may be able to swing it if you can get your remi supplied form the UK and only pay for the infusions here but I have no idea whether that would actually work. Does your consultant know any colleagues here? That may help.

Good luck and let us know if you manage it.
