Hey everyone, I hope you're all having a good day.
I just got a job (for the first time in months) as a nanny. I'll be taking care of children and cleaning house. Basically, I'll be doing a mom's job. I know there are alot of mothers on here who keep a wonderful home and their kids are well taken care of.
I was just wondering, would you hire a nanny who had crohns? Take out the fact that you have it as well. You're just a "normal," healthy person, with the general info that most people have when it comes to crohns. I'm also dealing with a "possible multiple sclerosis" diagnosis, a tumor on my ovary, and rheumatoid arthritis. I haven't told my employers any of this. I'm going to, but I want to show them that I'm capable of doing the job, regardless of my diseases. I think I can do it. As long as I have my pills, and keep with my doctors, I think I'll be able to keep working.
I know there is a stigma when it comes to sick people, especially with the illnesses I have. But personally, I know I can still be a great nanny. I've been doing it for years, and it's the one thing I'm really, really good at.
So, would you hire a nanny if they had a chronic illness, or multiple chronic illnesses? Be honest, and keep in mind that I would be taking care of the most important people in your life. With my experience, training, and education, I could get any nanny job. So factor that in as well.
Thanks everyone!
