Came home yesterday from our 5 day hospital stay with a bowel obstruction. Today he looks worse and now has a rash on his chest and back. He had a remicade treatment while in the hospital. Could it be a reaction? He is also on 60 mg of prednisone could that be causing the fash? His stomach is not bothering him but he is extra tired and says he feels like he is out in the fog.

Hi, ANY NEW SYPTOMS should be reported to the GI.
Can you call the GI on-call at your hospital?
Yes it could be because of the drugs or something else.

I hope he feels back to himself soon

It is a new symptom and coupled with the fact he looks worse a call to the GI is warranted. Good luck, I hope all soon settles and your starts to feel mech better!

Let us know what the Gi says .
I can tell you for DS remicade did cause lots of skin issues - rashes , blisters , scalp issues , skin on the fingers peeling.
We always followed up with the Gi as well as the dermotologist on any new or worsening issues .

All the GI is saying at this point is to separate the prednisone one tablet in the mornimg and one at night. Call them if symptoms get worse. We see him in Friday morning.

We saw GI yesterday. Colonoscopy and MRE ordered. Blood work looks good. We are still waiting on test for antibodies to remicade. He does have inflammation in his colon and stricture we are hoping from inflammaion in smal bowel. If from scar tissue surgery would be only option. I talked with doc about med change due to the inflammation. He said probably we would change to Humira and still keep the methotrexate also. He is to young to going through all of this.
